Welcome to my first post of the year! "Welcome" to 2017... right?
I had a fine time in Sweden, including exploring the Vasa Museum (http://www.vasamuseet.se/en) with these details as noted on their site: "The Vasa ship capsized and sank in Stockholm 1628. After 333 years on the sea bed the mighty warship was salvaged and the voyage could continue. Today Vasa is the world's only preserved 17th century ship and the most visited museum in Scandinavia."
The fireworks celebration itself was extensive. I took video of it and will have to get around to sharing it. :)
Since being back I have nursed myself back to health from a chest cold and have attempted to readjust to this American life.
Just yesterday a great article by Quinn O'Callaghan at The Philadelphia Citizen came out on ME.mory and its development, featuring myself and Nicodemus Madehdou prominently: http://thephiladelphiacitizen.org/me-mory-lane-tom-dixon/
Like many others, I'm uncomfortable with having Trump as our soon-to-be President. I promise that I will do what I can to survive and thrive these next four years, without feeling burned out, such meaning that I have decided how I must limit my media consumption, and I encourage others to intentionally do so too. Let us call and email as we are able, yet also admit that we need care too.
I look forward to maintaining a sense of how people can act and be treated appropriately as this future becomes our future too. I will face 2017 with calm and peace of mind.
Take care people!
